Tom Cruise Opinion Poll Scandal

HOLLYWOOD - Parade magazine has thrown out the results of a Tom Cruise opinion poll, after they grew suspicious of the surprising landslide majority.

Parade's Web site recently asked online readers if they blamed Cruise or the media for his disastrous public relations last year, and magazine bosses were stunned to find 84 per cent of respondents blamed the press.

Cruise was ridiculed in the press for his many public declarations of love for fiancée Katie Holmes and his claims of medical expertise thanks to his controversial religion Scientology.

Parade publicist Alexis Collado tells Web site PageSix.com, "We at Parade found this a little bit fishy, so we did some investigating. We found out more than 14,000 (of the 18,000-plus votes) that came in were cast from only 10 computers!

"One computer was responsible for nearly 8,400 votes alone, all blaming the media for Tom's troubles.

"We also discovered that at least two other machines were the sources of inordinate numbers of votes. It seems these folks (whoever they may be) resorted to extraordinary measures to try to portray Tom in a positive light for the Parade.com survey.

"There is even a chance they wrote a special 'bot' program for the sole purpose of skewing the results, rather than casting the votes by hand on a computer."

Cruise's spokesman insists the actor is ignorant of the survey's existence, saying, "I know nothing about the poll, so we have nothing to comment on."

Arrests Made in Jennifer Lopez-Marc Anthony Wedding Video Scandal

HOLLYWOOD - Authorities say two men have been arrested for trying to sell Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez’s stolen wedding video back to them for $1 million. The two stars were married in June 2004.

Tito Moses, 31, and Steven Wortman, 49, were arraigned late Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of conspiracy, attempted grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

According to a criminal complaint filed against them, Moses and Wortman sought and failed repeatedly to capitalize on the video, shopping it to media outlets including Us Weekly and People magazines and the TV show Access Hollywood.

After no deals were made with the media, according to the filed complaint, the two men contacted Marc Anthony Productions in a ploy to sell it back to Anthony. The complaint states that an NYPD officer posed as Anthony’s associate, negotiating with the two men between Dec. 20 and Dec. 27.

During that time, Moses and Wortman demanded $1 million for the video—which was contained on a laptop stolen from Anthony’s car in Linden, N.J., last October. When the detective balked at the demands, the men threatened to destroy the video, the complaint says.

The two men were finally arrested Tuesday, during a sting operation in which they allegedly thought they were selling the video for a cheaper price.

HOLLYWOOD - Socialite Paris Hilton is at the center of a Maryland police investigation
after information leaked to the authorities claims she has allegedly offered
teenagers drugs and alcohol.
Baltimore Police officials have confirmed they're taking the reports very
seriously, adding Hilton could face a hefty fine and jail time if she's found
guilty.
The allegations stem from an episode of reality show The Simple Life:
Interns, when Hilton reportedly offered teens marijuana and bourbon to "loosen
them up" for a taped segment.
One of the teens involved has told police, "She loaded myself and two other
underage kids on shots of Jack Daniels to loosen us up for the show."
Baltimore Police Detective Chris Schaeffer tells tabloid the National
Enquirer, "These are serious allegations. We will certainly be investigating
them."
A spokesman for 20th Century Fox - the company behind The Simple Life -
insists the allegations are false: "Paris would never endanger the welfare of a
minor."

Meanwhile, Paris Latsis' dad has heightened speculation the Greek shipping heir
will not wed Paris Hilton, by declaring the pair are not as close as they used
to be.
Hotel heiress Hilton accepted Latsis' marriage proposal in the early summer,
and they soon traveled to Greece to seek out a suitable location for a
wedding ceremony.
But since their return to the U.S., the pair have hardly been seen out together
and Hilton has fought off rumors that she's now romancing music producer Scott
Storch, who she recently spent a lot of time with during New York Fashion
Week.
And now Latsis' father Gregoris Kasidokostas tells Star magazine, "There does
seem to be some problem [between them]. I understand that they are not as close
as they used to be.
"Both his mother and I agree that our son is far too young to contemplate
marriage and children. Our son agreed with us. There was a unanimity on this
issue."
Despite Kasidokostas' statement, Hilton insists she just recently went
wedding dress shopping.
